Sue Graves and Hector Gilchrist (formerly of “Soiree”)

20th June @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Hector and Sue first appeared at the club as a duo in 2004, and have returned, in various guises, on several occasions since then.

Hector is well known for his mellifluous voice and his extensive musical tastes.  He is equally at home singing ballads by Robert Burns or American crooner classics, and has some self-penned songs to his credit also.  Originally from Ayrshire, Scotland, he has a rich heritage of Scottish music to draw on.  He has a relaxed singing style, and an engaging personality.

Sue is affectionately known as the “Surrey Nightingale”.  Her early musical influences were Joan Baez, Mary Hopkin, Tom Paxton and Ralph McTell.  Sue has always loved singing solo and in harmony, and has been in several bands, currently part of the five piece close harmony multi-instrumental group Suntrap.

Sue and Hector sang together in the trio Soiree with their friend and guitarist, Steve Poole, for ten years, and will feature some of the songs from that era in their set.  Together, their voices and guitars blend in beautiful harmony.
